چکیده

Olive leaf spot (OLS), also called olive scab and peacock eye, caused by Fusicladium oleagineum, is a major disease that causes significant damage to trees. However, we still lack information about how cultivar environmental factors influence development. In this study, evaluation of the incidence severity on twenty cultivars (Olea europaea L.), maintained in an ex situ collection Morocco, was carried out monthly during period from March July 2021. Biochemical parameters were evaluated for each including chlorophyll, polyphenols flavonoid contents. Results revealed OLS highly correlated with (r = 0.94) found be related climatic conditions cultivars. The studied classified into four groups, i.e., susceptible, moderately resistant resistant. Finally, our investigations partial relationship between resistance phenolic contents, supporting assumption potential involvement such components disease. Overall, work highlights importance characterizing driving choice best varieties effective control specific warming regions as Morocco.

Factors Affecting Resistance of Two Olive Cultivars to Leaf Spot Disease in the North West of Tunisia

Evaluation of the incidence of the leaf spot disease caused by the biotrophic pathogen Fusicladium oleagineum on two olive cultivars (Olea europaea L.) was carried out during six years (2009/2015) in groves located at Touiref (North West of Tunisia). The studies focused on Meski and Chetoui cultivars. The evaluated foliar incidence of disease was analyzed in relationship with some factors. Dise...

Sclerophylly and leaf anatomical traits of five field-grown olive cultivars growing under drought conditions.

Leaf-level morphological and structural adaptations to reduce water loss were examined in five olive (Olea europaea L.) tree cultivars (Arbequina, Blanqueta, Cobrançosa, Manzanilla and Negrinha) growing under field conditions with low water availability. Leaf measurements included leaf tissue thickness, stomatal density, leaf area, leaf mass per unit area, density of leaf tissue, relative water...

From Olive Fruits to Olive Oil: Phenolic Compound Transfer in Six Different Olive Cultivars Grown under the Same Agronomical Conditions

Phenolic compounds are responsible of the nutritional and sensory quality of extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO). The composition of phenolic compounds in EVOO is related to the initial content of phenolic compounds in the olive-fruit tissues and the activity of enzymes acting on these compounds during the industrial process to produce the oil. In this work, the phenolic composition was studied in si...
